Mary Waldron, beloved Brocktonian supporter created the Just Checking in Fund in memory of her late husband.

John Waldron died in March 2012 due to complications from knee surgery. He was known for his fundraising for school sports programs and clubs.

John always “checked in” with family and friends, neighbors and many times, complete strangers in need. After John passed away, wiffleball was chosen as something that everyone can play and have fun at the same time.

100% of all funds raised go to the Just Checking In Fund which provides scholarships to Brockton High School Alumni (in John’s name), and charities that John supported; BHS Musical, BHS Football Alumni, Boys and Girls Club, TOPS soccer program, Old Colony YMCA, One Fund, Red Cross, Jingle Bell Run, Epilepsy Foundation, Polish White Eagles Scholarship Fund, BHS Golf Team,  Brockton Hospital Cancer Walk, Frederick Douglass Neighborhood Association to name just a few.
